01What we run

Four kindsof routes.

  • Backup routes

When a route is uncovered because of a driver, a vehicle or a schedule problem, we step in under written authorization, with our own backup driver and vehicle behind us.

When to call us: A provider gap, a breakdown, a driver shortage.

  • Overflow capacity

Ridership doesn't always follow the school calendar. We hold seat capacity you can call on for new riders mid-term.

When to call us: New riders, mid-year changes, temporary surges.

  • Hard-to-serve and interdistrict routes

Small vehicles make long, low-density routes workable. We plan time, deadhead and tolls up front so the cost is clear before day one.

When to call us: A student who lives in one town and goes to school in another.

  • Short-notice routes

When a new rider needs a seat mid-term, we plan, test and confirm the route as fast as our seven steps allow, always under written authorization.

When to call us: A new rider mid-term, a schedule change, a temporary need.

04Questions

Districtquestions.

  • A passenger vehicle certified for school pupil transport under Massachusetts 7D rules: a GVWR of 10,000 lb or less, at most 8 passengers plus the driver, school pupil plates and a 7D inspection twice a year. Drivers need their own 7D certificate. More on the RMV's 7D program page.
